Early Roots

My experience in construction began in high school, where I spent my summers working for my dad’s custom home company. I’ve had the benefit of learning carpentry and the sequence of work that goes into a well-built home from a young age. Those early lessons continue to guide the standards I uphold on every project and shape how I build today.

Experience

Before starting A Currie Construction, I worked on high-end custom homes on Vancouver’s North Shore. The pace and expectations of those projects demanded precision and a clear understanding of complex residential construction – refining the way I manage builds and communicate with homeowners, architects, and designers. Now based in Revelstoke, this strong foundation has guided how I build mountain homes suited to the local terrain and conditions.

My Approach

I undertake a limited number of builds each year to ensure full involvement from preliminary vision to final touches. I’m on site daily, managing details directly and maintaining straightforward communication. Working closely with the full design team helps streamline decisions and ensures the work moves forward without unnecessary gaps or confusion. This hands-on approach keeps the process organized and efficient, reduces stress for homeowners, and allows me to maintain consistency throughout the build.

Who We Build With

My carpentry team completes the framing, concrete formwork, and finishing work in-house, giving us direct control over key stages of construction. I also work with a core group of tradespeople I trust, chosen for their reliability, consistency, and respect for the level of detail required on custom residential projects. Many of them worked with me on my own home before joining client builds, helping maintain a strong, cohesive standard across each project.
